High mast lighting pole is a tallest pole for light focusing purpose to coverage of more surface area. Wherever the wide and larger spaces like Highways, Stadium, parking areas, playground, etc these kind of high mast poles are used for give the good lumens. Light fixtures fixed at the top of the pole those numbers can be fixed 6nos, 8nos, 12nos, 16nos depends on the requirement of lumens in that area. These light types of light fittings are called as Flood lights. Earlier stage while most of the high mast light fittings are sodium vapour or metal halide but now in this modernised world the lighting technology developed to LED types which is more efficiency, energy saving also less in weight.
High mast Lighting poles is motorised type it means the whole setup of the light fixtures can be lowering and rising for the fixtures service purpose. This kind of mechanism is done by the winch and motor assumably in side the pole itself. High mast motorised operation can be operated using the reverse forward switch provided along with it.
There are various height of high mast pole depends on the requirements of site conditions. Normally basic height starts from 10 meter to maximum of 42meter.
High mast poles are normally coated with hot dip galvanised with 75-85 microns. It’s an anti-corrosive from any climatic changes conditions, chemical factory environments, seashore field, etc.

The high Mast is an outdoor lighting shall be of continuously tapered, polygonal cross section type (Minimum 16 – Sides bending) pole for good visual appearance form the large height to cover larger lightning illumination surface like, Highways, port trust, parking area, sports stadium. It shall be based on proven design to given assured performance, reliability, and service. The Mast shall have an approximate top diameter of say 180 mm to 200 mm and bottom diameter of 400mm to 450mm. The weight of the Mast shall not exceed more than 1600 kgs according to the height. Excluding weight of Luminaries, to maintain good elasticity of slender structure.
Our high mast is continuously tapered polygonal cross section of atleast 20sides, presenting a good & pleasing appearance which is based onproven intension design confirming to the technical report n0-7 -1996 of theinstitution of lighting engineers.UK. To give assured performance and reliable service. The structure is suitable for loading as per IS 875(Part 3)1987.
High mast is fabricate from steel plates confirming to BS - En 10025, cut and folded to from a polygonal section, Mast are in two sections for 16 & 20 Mtr. And in three section for 25 & 30 Mtr. Height having only longitudinal weld confirming to BS 5135/AWS. The mast is provided with a fully penetrated flange which is free from laminations or incursions. The welding connection of the base flange is fully developed to the strength of the entire gussets between bolt holes to ensure elimination of helical stress concentration. For environmental protection of the mast the entire fabricated mast is Hot Dip Galvanized (Single Dip) internally externally, having uniform coating thickness of 85 / 65 microns for bottom / top section respectively.
An adequate door opening is provided at the base of the mast. The opening is such that it permits clear access to equipment’s like winch, cable, wire rope, plug & socket etc. And also facilities easy removal of the winch for servicing. The door opening is complete with a close fitting vandal resistant Allen key locking with provision for external lock , the door opening is carefully designed and reinforced with adequate steel section so that the mast section at the base is unaffected and undue bucking of the cut portion is prevented under heavy wind condition
The High mast is providing with accessories as per customers requirements. Generally, these include a raising and lowering system (R & L), training cable, power tool, feeder pillar for automatic switching operation of luminaries, lighting final and aviation obstruction warning light. The power tool integral / external type suitable for handling the total head load. It has a mechanical torque limiter to ensure safety and also a manual handle is provided. The R & L system will compromise of a double drum winch. ss wire ropes, head frame and lantern carriage. The winch is self-lubricating and self-sustaining type. It does not require any brake or clutch and a lifting capacity of SWL 750KGS. It has gravity operated pawls to ensure safety. The wire ropes are of stainless-steel grade AIA316 with minimum 6mm diameter & 7/19 construction its central core is also SS and have a minimum breaking strength of 2350KGS.
The entire mast shall be hot dip galvanized after fabrication, internally and externally in accordance with BSEN ISO 461 or equivalent. Our zinc bath of 14m X 1.05m X 1.15m is capable of single dip hot galvanizing which ultimately gives better finish & long lasting.
